The Salinas Baseball Academy Is the biggest Academy in South Texas. The "SIII " stands for Salinas III. Salinas III stands for Orlando Salinas, Hector "Trey" Salinas, and Coach Hector Salinas. We are a baseball Family. We eat ,sleep and dream baseball. How many academies and families can say that they truly are a baseball family?
Coach Hector Salinas , was a College All-American and Played professional baseball . Coach Salinas is one the most Successfull Coaches this area has ever had. He is the person that STARTED THE MOODY MAGIC TRADITON. He was a Division I College Coach and one of his biggest highlights was upsetting #1 ranked Texas Longhorns. He has helped and given hundreds if not thousands of kids a chance to go to the next level. He is the GodFather of South Texas Baseball. Coach Salinas started four College Programs from ground level. All of the College programs he started were very successfull. He is in the South Texas Baseball Hall Of Fame. So,when you our thinking about getting exposure and your ready to Showcase your kid for the next level, LOOK NO FURTHER. Coach Salinas is in the House.......
Hector "Trey" Salinas , was one the most celebrated baseball players to come out of South Texas. He was a former Moody Trojan, and ALL-STATE catcher. His Senior year in High School he was Drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 16th round. He played his college baseball at The University of Texas, were he started as a freshman and soph. Trey , was then drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 15th round, he played professional baseball for eight years. He made it all the way to the Triple AAA level, which is one step from the show. One of the highlights of his career was winning the MVP and the Home Run Derby at the Class A All -Star game. By the way, he beat RYAN HOWARD of the PHILLIES and DAVID WRIGHT of the New York Mets in that Home Run derby. In 2008, Trey was named the manager for the Corpus Christi Beach Dawgs. This is a professional baseball team in our area. He is one of the most knowlegeable baseball minds in South Texas. He has been there, done that. Trey Salinas is in the House.................
Orlando Salinas , the Founder of SIII Baseball Academy. He is one of the pioneers of Select baseball in Corpus Christi. He opened the First Baseball Academy in Corpus Christi in 2000. In 2000 ,SIII baseball Academy became a big player in the world of select baseball. SIII Baseball Academy is very well Known across the United States. Orlando, was a former Moody Trojan and ALL- State Player. He played his college baseball career at Texas A&M in Kingsville, were he was an ALL CONFERENCE player. After College, he signed a professional baseball contract with the Corpus Christi Barraccudas and played in the Mexican League for 2 seasons. He then became a College Assistant Coach for Texas A&M Kingsville and Texas Texas A&M University Corpus Christi for the next 6 years. He was in charge of the Hitters and Pitchers. He is currently the Houston Astros Scout for the South Texas area. He is constanly studying the game and finding ways to take kids to the next level. HIS EYE FOR TALENT IS VERY WELL RESPECTED; HIS DESIRE FOR THE GAME UNMATCHED.
